Description
The TRAINER R50 Shoulder Developer is a compact free-standing outdoor station for the shoulder girdle, measuring 54 x 61 x 166 cm and weighing around 45 kg. It requires a safety zone of 354 x 361 cm. Certified to EN 16630:2015-06 by TUV Rheinland, it is supplied by Light In Fitness at 1,648.80 EUR excluding VAT.
Small footprint, specific job
At 54 x 61 cm the R50 has one of the smallest footprints in the TRAINER outdoor range. It does one thing: it loads the shoulder girdle and the lateral aspect of the arms through a pressing and raising movement performed against body weight. On a circuit where the large multi-station units take the prominent positions, this is the station that fits into the gaps, along a path edge or between two trees, and adds an upper-body movement the rest of the circuit does not cover.
- Strengthens the shoulder girdle and the free part of the upper limb
- Particular emphasis on the lateral aspect of the arms
- Difficulty rated easy, no instruction required
- Maximum user weight 150 kg
Free-standing, not pylon-mounted
The R50 carries its own base and is anchored to a prepared foundation rather than fixed to a shared pylon. Practically, that means it can be sited independently of the rest of the circuit, and it can be added later to an installation that is already finished without disturbing existing units. Pylon-mounted stations are more economical when several units are grouped; free-standing units are the right choice when the layout is dispersed.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the safety zone so much larger than the equipment?
EN 16630 sizes the zone from the movement envelope and the free height of fall, not from the frame. A user working the shoulders extends their arms well beyond the machine, and the zone must stay clear of benches, planting and paths. The 354 x 361 cm figure already accounts for that.
Can it be installed on its own, without a full circuit?
Yes. A single station is a perfectly valid installation, and residences, campsites and small parks frequently start with two or three units. What matters is that each has its own compliant safety zone and surfacing.
What does maintenance involve?
Routine visual inspections, an operational check every one to three months and an annual main inspection, in line with EN 16630 practice. On a galvanised and double-coated frame, the main items are anchor bolts, moving joints and any local damage to the coating.
