Description
The TRAINER double chest press is an outdoor body weight station that lets two users push simultaneously, developing the pectorals, the scapular girdle and the upper limbs. The pressing movement also builds general muscular endurance, and doubling the station is what keeps a public fitness area moving: one press per module means a queue at peak times, two means a pair can train together and a group session can actually run.
Construction is high quality steel, shot blasted and hot dip galvanised, then coated with a double layer of polyester paint for maximum weather resistance. Seat and contact elements use high density HDPE panels resistant to ultraviolet and impact. The unit complies with EN 16630:2015-06 for permanently installed outdoor fitness equipment and is tested and certified by TUV Rheinland.

Site planning
The recommended safety zone of 498 x 370 cm, around 18.4 m2, is what governs the position of the station rather than the 1.97 m frame. It must remain clear of paths, seating, planting, kerbs and adjacent apparatus, and it sets the extent of any impact attenuating surfacing, dimensioned to the free fall height under EN 1177. Anchoring is into concrete foundations sized to the ground conditions.
The station is designed for urban parks, municipal fitness areas and health trails. In a circuit it should be paired with a pulling station so members train the back as well as the chest, since a push only circuit produces exactly the postural imbalance that outdoor fitness schemes are usually meant to address. The double format also makes it the natural station for a supervised group session, where an instructor can coach two users at once.
Frequently asked questions
How is the resistance set?
The station uses the user’s own body weight, so there is nothing to adjust and nothing an unsupervised user can set incorrectly. That is why body weight equipment is the standard specification for open access sites.
Can two people of different sizes use it together?
Yes. Each position is independent and the resistance is proportional to the user’s own weight, so a light and a heavy user can train side by side without either being over or under loaded.
What maintenance does it need?
Annual inspection of anchors, fixings, HDPE panels and the paint film maintains EN 16630 compliance. Steel structures carry a 20 year warranty and wear parts remain available after the sale.
