Description
The TRAINER R05A is a single-position outdoor leg press from the OutdoorStart range, measuring 119.5 x 55.2 x 157.2 cm and weighing 39 kg. It requires a safety zone of 416 x 356 cm. Certified to EN 16630:2015-06 by TUV Rheinland, it is supplied by Light In Fitness at 1,596 EUR excluding VAT.
Real leg loading, outdoors
Most outdoor stations for the lower body work on movement rather than on load: stepping, pedalling, skiing. The leg press is different. The user sits and pushes the platform away against a significant fraction of their own body weight, which produces genuine strength work in the quadriceps and glutes and recruits the lower abdominal wall to stabilise the pelvis. It is rated medium for that reason, and it is the station that gives a park circuit something for people who already train.
- Seated pressing movement against body weight
- Develops the quadriceps, glutes and lower abdominals
- Difficulty rated medium, maximum user weight 150 kg
- Compact 55.2 cm width, easy to place along a path
Seated, supported, self-limiting
Loading the legs outdoors raises an obvious safety question, and the design answers it by geometry: the back is supported, the range is bounded by the mechanism, and there is no weight to drop or adjust. A user who cannot complete a repetition simply returns to the start. That is what allows a strength-oriented station to be installed in an unsupervised public space.
Construction
High-grade steel, shot-blasted and hot-dip galvanised, then finished with a double layer of polyester powder coating. The seat uses HDPE panels resistant to UV and impact, which keeps the contact surface comfortable across the seasons and avoids the maintenance that timber seating requires. Standard colours are yellow (RAL 1018/7004), graphite (RAL 7016/9006), orange (RAL 2000/9006) and lime (RAL 6018/9006), with other RAL references quoted on request.

Frequently asked questions
How is the resistance determined?
By the user’s own body weight and the lever geometry of the machine. There is nothing to set, which means nothing to set incorrectly, and it also means a heavier user experiences a proportionally heavier press, which is exactly the behaviour you want in an open-access installation.
Is it suitable for a circuit aimed at older adults?
It can be included, but it is rated medium rather than easy. On a senior-oriented trail we would specify the pedal bench as the primary leg station and add the leg press for the more active users, with the instruction panel making the difference clear.
What surfacing is required?
The 416 x 356 cm zone must be clear and even. Depending on the free height of fall determined for the site, an impact-attenuating surface may be needed; this is confirmed with the layout drawing and can be supplied with the equipment.
