Description

The Bodytone FH13 is an assisted pull up and dip station: the weight stack counterbalances part of the user’s body weight so that pull ups and dips become achievable and measurable from the first session. Pull ups can be taken with a wide or a narrow grip to bias back width or elbow flexion, and the same frame supports dips for the chest and triceps. That combination of body weight movements with graded assistance is why the station is a fixture in commercial clubs, CrossFit oriented facilities, military and emergency service training rooms and any site where a pull up is part of a physical test.

Ceiling height is the deciding constraint

At 229 cm the FH13 is the tallest machine in this range and the ceiling will decide whether it can be installed at all. Measure the clear height at the exact intended position, taking account of suspended ceilings, beams, ductwork and lighting tracks, and then add the space a user’s head and hands need above the platform at the top of a pull up. A room that comfortably accepts every other Forza FH station can still refuse this one.

The base measures 142 x 161 cm, and the user stands on a knee or foot platform, so the working envelope is essentially vertical rather than sweeping outwards. That makes the station a good wall or corner candidate provided the ceiling allows. Net weight is 293 kg and must be checked against permissible floor loading before any installation above ground level.

Servicing concentrates on the assistance platform mechanism and the cable that carries it, since both take the full counterweight travel at every repetition. Check the platform pivot and locking, inspect the cable and pulleys, verify the grip bars are secure and include the handles and platform in the daily cleaning round.

Assistance range and options

The stack is 107 kg as standard and can be specified at 134 kg. On this station the stack works as assistance rather than as resistance: more plates means more of the user’s body weight is offset, so a heavier stack widens the range of users who can complete a full repetition. That makes the 134 kg option genuinely useful on sites with a mixed or heavier population, in contrast with the isolation machines where it is an advanced training feature.

Frequently asked questions

How does the assistance work?

The selected plates act as a counterweight through the platform the user kneels or stands on, offsetting part of their body weight. Selecting fewer plates reduces the assistance, so progression is simply a matter of removing plates in 7 kg steps until the movement can be done unassisted.

Can strong users still be challenged on this machine?

With the pin removed there is no assistance and the movement becomes a standard body weight pull up or dip, so the station remains useful across the whole range. Sites that need loaded pull ups beyond body weight normally add a rig or a belt.

What clear ceiling height should I plan for?

The machine itself is 229 cm tall. Measure the clear height at the installation point and keep working room above that figure for the user’s head and hands; this check should be done before the order rather than on delivery day.
