Description
The Bodytone FH32 is a selectorised dip station performed seated, with an open grip for the pectorals and a closed grip for the triceps. Doing the movement seated rather than suspended is the point: the load comes from the weight stack in 7 kg steps instead of from body weight, so a member who cannot yet complete a single unassisted dip can train the same pattern from the first session. The two grips make one frame cover a chest movement and an arm movement, which is efficient for commercial clubs, hotel gyms, corporate facilities and armed forces or emergency service training rooms.

Operating intensity and layout
The seated dip is a pressing movement done in a downward direction, which means the reaction forces run through the frame rather than through a suspended user. The 258 kg net weight is part of why the station stays planted under a heavy set; it also means the permissible floor loading must be verified before installing above ground level, and the delivery route surveyed.
The 129 x 143 cm base is deeper than it is wide. The arms travel down and slightly outward, so leave clearance on both sides of the seat and an unobstructed entry path at the front. Because two exercises share the station, expect longer occupancy per user than on a single purpose machine and size quantities against peak attendance accordingly.
Servicing covers the cable and pulleys, the pivot bushings on the pressing arms, the seat height lock and the selector pin. Handles on a dip station collect chalk and sweat, so include them in the daily clean and use a neutral cleaner on the upholstery.
Stack configuration
The standard 107 kg stack extends to 134 kg. Because the closed grip triceps version of the movement is strong for most trained users, the extension is more often justified here than on an isolation machine; for hotel and clinical sites the standard stack remains ample.
Frequently asked questions
How does the seated dip differ from a dip on a rig?
On a rig the resistance is the user’s own body weight, which is fixed. On the FH32 the resistance is a selectorised stack, so it can be set below body weight for a beginner or above it for an advanced user, and progression is measurable in 7 kg steps.
What does switching grip actually change?
The open grip widens the elbow path and shifts the emphasis onto the lower pectorals; the closed grip keeps the elbows tucked and loads the triceps. Both are performed from the same seat with the same stack.
Do I still need a chest press if I have the FH32?
Most commercial specifications keep both. A chest press loads the pectorals in a horizontal plane, while the dip pattern loads them in a downward plane and adds significant triceps work, so the two are complementary rather than interchangeable.
