Description

The Bodytone FH14 is a selectorised lat pulldown station on which the bar is drawn down in front of the chest, with an open or a closed grip. The movement targets the latissimus dorsi and works on back width rather than thickness, which is why it sits alongside a seated row rather than replacing it. Chest and thigh supports keep the torso fixed so the load stays on the back instead of being pulled through the hips. It is dimensioned for commercial clubs, hotel gyms, university and municipal facilities and armed forces training rooms.

Ceiling height, siting and servicing

At 195 cm the FH14 is one of the taller machines in the Forza FH range, so the ceiling is a real constraint rather than a formality. Check the clear height at the exact position where the machine will stand, allowing for suspended ceilings, ductwork and lighting tracks, and remember that a tall user seated on the pad still needs headroom above the handle at the top of the movement.

The 142 x 137 cm footprint is almost square, which makes the station easy to place against a wall in a back and biceps zone. Access is from the front of the seat, and the pulldown bar swings when released, so keep a clear metre in front of the seat and do not site a walkway directly across the bar path. Net weight is 265 kg and must be checked against the floor loading capacity for any installation above ground level.

Servicing concentrates on the cable run, which is longer here than on a pressing machine. Inspect the cable, the top pulley and the swivel for wear at each preventive visit, confirm the thigh pad locks at every notch, and clean the upholstery with a neutral product.

Stack and grip options

The stack is 107 kg as standard and can be ordered at 134 kg where the user population includes heavy pulling athletes such as climbers, rowers or combat sport competitors. The 7 kg increment is coarse enough to keep progression legible in a group setting and fine enough for a mixed membership. Handles, colours and upholstery are confirmed at the quotation stage.

Frequently asked questions

Does the FH14 replace a pull up station?

Not exactly. The FH14 lets a user train the same pulling pattern with a load lighter than body weight, in 7 kg steps, which a fixed bar cannot do. Sites that need genuine body weight work usually pair it with an assisted pull up and dip machine or a rig.

What is the difference between the open and closed grip?

A wide open grip emphasises the outer latissimus dorsi and back width, while a narrow closed grip shifts more work onto the lower latissimus and the elbow flexors. Having both available on one station means a coach can vary the stimulus without moving the member to another machine.

What ceiling height should I plan for?

The machine itself stands 195 cm tall. Measure the clear height at the intended position and keep working room above that figure so the bar and the user’s hands are never near the ceiling at full extension.
