Description
The Bodytone FH24 is a selectorised lateral raise machine that isolates the middle deltoid through a guided abduction of the arms. The guided path is what distinguishes it from a pair of dumbbells: the load stays on the shoulder through the whole range instead of shifting as the arms rise, and the movement can be executed slowly and under control without the user swinging the weight up. With a 123 x 109 cm footprint and a 91 kg stack, it is one of the more compact and affordable stations in the Forza FH range, which makes it a realistic addition for hotel gyms, corporate fitness rooms and clubs completing a shoulder zone.

Compact siting and daily operation
At 123 x 109 cm this is the smallest base in the selectorised part of the range apart from the biceps station, and at 220 kg it is also the lightest. Those two figures matter on a real project: the FH24 is the machine that fits into the space left over once the presses and the leg stations have been placed, and it is the one most likely to be viable on an upper floor where floor loading is tight.
Height is 162 cm, below eye level, so the machine does not break sightlines across the room. The arms move upward and outward from the seated position, so leave lateral clearance on both sides but note that the working envelope is modest compared with a pec fly. A wall or mirror position works well.
Upkeep is minimal: check the arm pivots and the cable, confirm the seat height adjustment locks at each notch, and wipe the arm pads and back pad with a neutral cleaner. The 7 kg plates and the selector pin should be inspected on the same preventive schedule as the rest of the range.
Load range
The stack is 91 kg in 7 kg steps, and there is no extension option on this reference. That is consistent with the movement: lateral raise is a small muscle isolation exercise and even trained athletes rarely approach the top of a 91 kg stack when the execution is controlled rather than swung.
Frequently asked questions
Why buy a lateral raise machine when dumbbells exist?
The guided path keeps tension on the middle deltoid throughout the range and prevents the momentum that a member typically uses to finish a dumbbell raise. For unsupervised sites it produces a more reliable stimulus, and the seated support removes the temptation to lean.
Can the load be set low enough for beginners?
Yes. The stack starts at a single 7 kg plate, which is an appropriate entry load for a shoulder isolation movement, and the increments are the same 7 kg used across the Forza FH range.
Does the FH24 replace a shoulder press?
No. The shoulder press is a compound pressing movement that recruits the deltoids together with the rhomboids and the upper pectorals; the FH24 isolates abduction. Clubs that want complete shoulder coverage install both.
