Description
The Bodytone FBC07 is a plate-loaded Olympic incline press that reproduces the incline bench press on a guided path. It measures 203 x 170 x 148 cm, weighs 116 kg and loads on standard 50 mm Olympic sleeves. Light In Fitness supplies it at 1,650 EUR excluding VAT.
The incline press without the balance problem
A free barbell incline press asks the lifter to solve two problems at once: producing force and controlling the bar in space. On the FBC07 the second problem is removed. The path is fixed, the start position is set by the rack, and the load is carried on sleeves rather than on a bar that has to be balanced. What is left is the pressing work itself, which is why members recruit the target muscles harder on a guided incline than on a free one at the same relative load.
- Guided incline pressing path, plate-loaded on 50 mm Olympic sleeves
- Adjustable seat to set the handle position against the pressing line
- No spotter required to fail a repetition safely
- Progressive loading in plate increments rather than stack steps
Muscles recruited
| Region | Muscles | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Chest | Pectoralis major, clavicular head | Primary on the incline angle |
| Shoulder | Anterior deltoid | Strong assistance through the press |
| Arm | Triceps brachii | Elbow extension and lockout |
| Trunk | Scapular stabilisers | Position and path control |
The incline angle shifts recruitment towards the clavicular head of the pectoralis major, which is the region most trainees under-develop when their programme is built around flat pressing.
Setting it up correctly
Seat height is the setting that determines whether the machine works. The handles should arrive naturally on the user’s pressing line, without forcing the shoulder into elevation at the bottom of the range. If the shoulder pulls at the bottom, raise the seat and shorten the range slightly rather than pushing through it. Back flat against the pad, shoulder blades retracted and depressed, feet planted.

Frequently asked questions
How does it compare with a plain incline bench and a rack?
A bench and rack is cheaper and more versatile, but it needs a spotter above a certain load and it needs supervision. The FBC07 is specified where a facility has unsupervised hours, a mixed-ability membership, or no room to leave clearance around a free barbell.
What plate set should be ordered with it?
For a club, a 100 kg set of 50 mm plates per pressing station is a reasonable starting point, including 1.25 kg and 2.5 kg discs so users can progress in small increments. Plates are quoted separately from the machine.
What maintenance does it need?
Periodic checks of fixings, pivot axles and friction points, plus cleaning of the handles and contact surfaces. Plates in poor condition are the main cause of wear on the sleeves, so keep the plate stock in good order.
