Description

The Power Line Seated Leg Curl is a selectorised hamstring station with a 100 kg weight stack. It measures 1270 x 1595 x 1655 mm and weighs 210 kg. The hip stays flexed throughout, which changes the length at which the hamstrings work compared with a prone curl. Professional price: 2,450 EUR excluding VAT.

Seated or prone: not the same exercise

Both movements flex the knee, but the hip angle differs. Seated, the hip is flexed and the hamstrings start from a longer position, which increases the stretch component and the load they can produce. Prone, the hip is extended. Trained together the two cover the hamstring group across its working length, which is why lower-body zones with the space normally carry both.

  • Selectorised 100 kg weight stack
  • Thigh restraint holding the legs down under load
  • Adjustable ankle roller and back pad to match limb length
  • Handles for trunk stabilisation during the curl
  • Steel weight plates insulated with noise-reducing PVC
  • PVC-coated steel cable on high-strength nylon pulleys
  • PU foam padding with synthetic leather

Muscles worked

Primary load on the hamstring group: biceps femoris, semitendinosus and semimembranosus, with the gastrocnemius contributing through the knee. The station complements a leg extension directly, and it is used extensively in supervised knee rehabilitation because the load is finely adjustable and the seated position is easy to enter and leave.

Set-up

Set the back pad so the knee aligns with the pivot of the machine, place the ankle roller just above the heel, and close the thigh restraint firmly enough that the legs cannot lift. Curl under control and resist the return: the eccentric phase is where most of the adaptation occurs on this movement.

Frequently asked questions

If only one hamstring machine can be specified, which one?

The seated curl is generally the more versatile choice for a mixed membership: it is easier to get in and out of than a prone bench, it suits users who cannot lie face down comfortably, and the adjustable back pad accommodates a wider range of statures.

Why does the thigh restraint matter?

Without it, a heavy set lifts the thighs off the seat and the hip extensors take over. The restraint keeps the femur fixed so the load passes through knee flexion, which is what the exercise is designed to train.

How much floor space is needed?

The machine occupies 1270 x 1595 mm. Allow clear access at the rear for the stack and room at the front for the roller to travel. At 210 kg, verify the slab capacity on upper floors.

The Power Line Seated Leg Curl is quoted at 2,450 EUR excluding VAT, before delivery and installation. Send us your floor plan and we will return a complete lower-body zone proposal within 24 to 72 hours. See the full Power Line selectorised machines range.
