Description
The Power Line Glute Extension is a selectorised hip extension station with a 100 kg weight stack. It measures 2065 x 1250 x 1655 mm and weighs 235 kg, and it loads one leg at a time so each side is trained through its own range. Professional price: 2,550 EUR excluding VAT.
Loaded hip extension, one leg at a time
Hip extension is the movement behind sprinting, jumping and every heavy pull, yet it is difficult to isolate: a squat or deadlift loads it inside a chain of other joints. This station drives it directly and unilaterally, against a selected load, with the trunk supported so the lumbar spine does not have to stabilise the movement.
- Selectorised 100 kg weight stack
- Chest and forearm support fixing the trunk during the push
- Adjustable footplate to match leg length and set the starting hip angle
- Unilateral work, so left and right are trained and measured separately
- Steel weight plates insulated with noise-reducing PVC
- PU foam padding with synthetic leather
Muscles worked
Primary load on the gluteus maximus, with the hamstrings assisting and the erector spinae working isometrically to hold the trunk position. Used through a full range it also loads the hip in flexion at the start of the movement, which contributes to hip mobility as well as strength.
Who specifies it
Commercial gyms with a developed lower-body zone, coaching studios, physical preparation centres and rehabilitation facilities. Demand for dedicated glute stations has risen sharply, and a floor without one pushes that work onto the leg press and the squat rack, where it competes for the busiest equipment on the floor.

Frequently asked questions
Why train one leg at a time?
Because hip extension strength is very often asymmetric, and a bilateral movement hides it. Working unilaterally makes the difference visible on the stack and lets it be corrected with targeted volume on the weaker side.
Does it replace a hip thrust?
Not entirely, but it covers much of the same ground with less set-up. A hip thrust needs a bench, a barbell and a pad, and is bilateral. This station is selectorised, unilateral, and ready to use in seconds, which suits a floor where members train without a coach.
How much floor space does it need?
At 2065 x 1250 mm it is the longest machine in the range. Allow clear space at the rear for the stack and access on the working side. At 235 kg, check the slab capacity on upper floors.
