Description
The Power Line Multi-Hip is a selectorised standing hip station with a 100 kg weight stack, covering flexion, extension, abduction and adduction on one frame. It measures 1290 x 1000 x 1655 mm and weighs 230 kg, on one of the smallest footprints in the range. Professional price: 2,450 EUR excluding VAT.
Four hip movements, one footprint
The hip moves in every plane, and equipping each direction with its own machine is rarely possible on a commercial floor. The multi-hip trains all four directions from a standing position by rotating the user relative to the roller: flexion, extension, abduction and adduction, each against a selected load, each working one leg at a time. For a floor of limited size it is the highest return per square metre in the lower-body zone.
- Selectorised 100 kg weight stack
- Four movement directions: hip flexion, extension, abduction and adduction
- Unilateral work, so each side is loaded and measured separately
- Adjustable roller height and support pad for different statures
- Standing position with handles for stabilisation
- Steel weight plates insulated with noise-reducing PVC
- PU foam padding with synthetic leather
Muscles worked
Extension loads the gluteus maximus and hamstrings. Flexion loads the iliopsoas and rectus femoris. Abduction loads the gluteus medius and minimus, the muscles responsible for pelvic stability in single-leg stance. Adduction loads the adductor group. Together these cover the musculature that controls the hip during walking, running and change of direction.
Set-up
Adjust the roller so it contacts the thigh above the knee, and set the support pad so the user stands upright with the pelvis square. Hold the handles and move only at the hip: any lean of the trunk means the load is too high. Because the movement is unilateral, run the same number of sets on each side.

Frequently asked questions
Does it replace a seated adductor and abductor machine?
It covers the same two directions plus flexion and extension, and it does so standing, which is closer to how the hip works in movement. A seated adductor and abductor machine allows heavier loading of those two directions specifically, so a large floor may want both.
Why train hip abduction at all?
Because the gluteus medius controls pelvic position during single-leg stance. Weakness there is one of the most common findings behind knee and lower back complaints in runners and in members returning to activity.
How much floor space is needed?
The machine occupies 1290 x 1000 mm, a small footprint for the number of movements it covers. Allow clear access at the rear for the stack and space on the working side for the leg to travel. At 230 kg, check the slab capacity on upper floors.
