Description
The Power Line Seated Row is a selectorised horizontal pulling station with a 100 kg weight stack. It measures 1050 x 1305 x 1655 mm and weighs 205 kg, and its chest support removes the lumbar loading that a free-weight bent-over row imposes. Professional price: 2,450 EUR excluding VAT.
Horizontal pulling without loading the lower back
A barbell row is an effective exercise and a poor one to leave unsupervised: the load on the lumbar spine depends entirely on the trunk position the user holds under fatigue. The chest pad on this machine removes that variable. The pull is horizontal, the spine is supported, and the load reaching the mid-back is the load selected on the stack.
- Selectorised 100 kg weight stack
- Chest support pad taking the lumbar load out of the movement
- Multiple handle positions for wide, narrow and neutral grips
- Adjustable seat height to align the handles with the mid-torso
- Steel weight plates insulated with noise-reducing PVC
- PVC-coated steel cable on high-strength nylon pulleys
- PU foam padding with synthetic leather
Muscles worked
Primary load on the mid-back: rhomboids, middle trapezius and latissimus dorsi, with the posterior deltoids and biceps assisting. Horizontal pulling is the direct counterweight to the pressing volume most members accumulate, which makes this station central to any programme aimed at posture as well as strength.
Set-up
Set the seat so the handles arrive at the level of the lower ribs and the chest rests against the pad without the shoulders being pushed forward. Pull the elbows back rather than pulling with the hands, and control the return. The chest pad should stay in contact throughout: if it does not, the load is too high.

Frequently asked questions
Row or lat pulldown first?
If a floor can only take one back station, take the pulldown, because it also builds towards the pull-up. With two, add the row: vertical and horizontal pulling load the back differently and both are needed for a balanced programme.
Is it usable in rehabilitation?
Yes, and it is one of the most commonly specified stations for that purpose. The supported trunk, the fixed path and the fine load increments make it straightforward to prescribe a controlled progression.
How much space does it need?
The machine occupies 1050 x 1305 mm, which is compact for a back station. Allow clear access at the rear for the stack. At 205 kg, check the slab capacity on upper floors.
