Description
The TRAINER Steel4Fit Helm is a free-standing outdoor shoulder mobility station reproducing the rotation of a ship’s wheel, built to the reinforced Steel4Fit specification. It measures approximately 45.5 x 80 x 170 cm, weighs around 35 kg and requires a safety zone of about 346 x 380 cm. Certified to EN 16630:2015 by TUV Rheinland, it is supplied by Light In Fitness at 1,626 EUR excluding VAT.
A warm-up station that people actually use
Turning the wheel takes both shoulders through a full circular path, with the elbows travelling above and below shoulder height on every revolution. That strengthens and lengthens the shoulder girdle, the pectorals, the forearms and the arms, and it restores rotational range in a joint that most adults use through a very small arc. It takes no effort to start, which is why it works as the first station of a circuit and as the one older visitors return to.
- Full-circle shoulder rotation with both hands on the rim
- Strengthens and stretches the shoulder girdle, chest, forearms and arms
- Improves joint mobility of the upper limbs
- Difficulty rated easy, minimum user height 140 cm
Why specify the reinforced version
A rotating device has moving parts in a public space, which makes it the item most likely to be misused. Steel4Fit answers that with material rather than with warnings: curved members in seamless S355 steel, straight sections in S235, high-quality welding throughout, hot-dip galvanising and then two coats of powder paint against corrosion and UV. The finish is the range’s distinctive red and graphite (RAL 3000 / RAL 7016). Specify it for campuses, dense residential areas and any site with a history of vandalism.

Frequently asked questions
How does this differ from the helm supplied in the combined mobility set?
Three differences. This unit is free-standing and carries its own base, rather than being fixed to a pylon; it is built to the reinforced Steel4Fit specification; and it is sold on its own rather than paired with hand wheels. Choose it where a single robust mobility station is wanted, or where the layout does not suit a pylon.
Is the red and graphite finish compulsory?
It is the standard scheme that identifies the Steel4Fit range. Other RAL references can be quoted, but the colour is part of how the reinforced range is recognised, and most councils installing a mixed circuit keep it.
What inspection does a rotating station need?
The same regime as any EN 16630 equipment, with attention to the rotation bearing: routine visual checks, an operational inspection every one to three months looking for developing play or noise, and an annual main inspection covering anchorage and structure.
