Description
The TRAINER Steel4Fit Cross Trainer reproduces the elliptical stride of an indoor machine outdoors, with no impact on the joints. It measures roughly 1,350 x 615-620 x 1,585-1,610 mm, takes users up to 150 kg, and is certified to EN 16630:2015 by TUV Rheinland. Professional price: 2,196 EUR excluding VAT.
Full-body cardio with no impact
Pedals and moving handles work together, so the stride loads the quadriceps, hamstrings, calves and glutes while the arms and shoulders drive the upper half of the movement. Because the foot never leaves the pedal, joint loading stays low, which is what makes the station usable by older users and by anyone returning from a lower-limb injury – two groups that most outdoor circuits fail to serve.
Beyond cardiovascular endurance, the alternating pattern trains coordination and joint mobility. Difficulty scales with cadence rather than with a setting, so the same station suits every level.

Where it is installed
Urban parks, municipal fitness areas, university campuses, residential developments and other high-traffic public spaces. EN 16630:2015 is the European standard for permanently installed outdoor fitness equipment and is the reference cited in public tenders. Keep the approximately 435 x 362 cm safety area clear and surfaced according to the free height of fall.

Frequently asked questions
Is there any resistance adjustment?
No. Effort is controlled by cadence and by how hard the user drives the handles. That is deliberate for equipment installed without supervision: there is nothing to set wrongly and nothing to break.
Is it suitable for older users?
Yes. The impact-free stride and the supported handles make it one of the more approachable stations in an outdoor circuit, which is why it is often specified near the entrance of a fitness area.
How does it perform on a coastal site?
Hot-dip galvanising plus two powder coats is the specification we recommend where salt spray shortens the life of a standard coating. Touch-up paint is supplied for impact damage.
Light In Fitness designs and supplies outdoor fitness areas for local authorities, campuses, campsites and property developers. Send us your site plan and we will quote equipment, surfacing and installation together.
