Description
The TRAINER Steel4Fit cross-country ski trainer delivers a full-body outdoor workout at approximately 48 kg, the lightest station in the Steel4Fit range covered here. EN 16630:2015, TUV Rheinland certified. Price: 2,032.80 EUR excluding VAT.
One station, the whole body
The cross-country skiing pattern moves arms and legs in opposition, which is why this is the station that gives a general workout rather than a muscle-group exercise. Legs, arms and trunk are all loaded, coordination improves with practice, and the continuous rhythm gives a genuine cardio-respiratory effect. It suits users from teenagers to adults and needs no explanation beyond watching someone else use it.
Placement in a fitness trail
Because it works the whole body, the ski trainer is normally placed early in a circuit as a warm-up station, or used as the cardio element between strength stations. Its recommended safety zone of approximately 3,950 x 3,570 mm is the largest relative to its physical size in the range, which is a function of the arm and leg travel rather than the frame.
Steel4Fit construction
Curved elements in seamless S355 steel, straight components in S235, welded to a high standard, hot-dip galvanised and powder-coated twice for maximum corrosion and UV protection. Finish in the range red and graphite, RAL 3000/7016.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the safety zone larger than the equipment?
Because the safety zone is dimensioned to the movement, not the frame. Arms and legs travel well beyond the footprint, and EN 16630 requires clearance around that envelope. The siting drawing shows the exact area to reserve.
Is it suitable for older users?
The difficulty level is rated easy and the movement is unloaded, so the station is accessible to a wide population. The manufacturer specifies teenagers through adults, with a recommended minimum user height of 140 cm.
What maintenance is needed?
Periodic inspection of the moving joints and fixings, plus cleaning. The hot-dip galvanising and double powder coat mean there is no scheduled repainting under normal exposure.
Programming a circuit around it
Used as a warm-up station at the start of a trail, the ski trainer raises heart rate and mobilises the shoulders and hips before members reach the strength stations. Used between strength stations, it maintains the cardio-respiratory load through a circuit. Signage suggesting two to three minutes of continuous work is enough guidance for an unsupervised installation, and costs almost nothing to add at the time of installation.
