Description
The TRAINER Steel4Fit chest press, reference D01, is a pylon mounted outdoor pushing station of 97.6 x 70 x 202 cm weighing 40 kg, certified to EN 16630:2015 and tested by TUV Rheinland. A guided push loads the pectorals, the scapular girdle and the upper limbs against body weight. What separates this version from the standard model is entirely metallurgical, and it is worth understanding before specifying a park.

Why the steel grades are specified separately
S355 has a higher yield strength than S235, and using it seamless matters at the curves. A welded tube has a longitudinal seam, and when that tube is bent the seam sits in the zone of highest stress. Removing it removes the most likely initiation point for a fatigue crack after years of cyclic loading. Straight members do not carry that concentration, so S235 is the correct and economical choice there. Specifying both grades in one frame is a considered engineering decision rather than a marketing line.
Corrosion protection follows the same logic. Hot dip galvanising deposits zinc metallurgically bonded to the steel, including inside the tubes, and the two powder coats then protect the zinc and provide the colour. Damage to the paint exposes zinc, not steel, so a scratch is cosmetic.
- Guided pushing movement for chest, shoulders and arms
- Body weight resistance, nothing to adjust or vandalise
- Seamless S355 curves, S235 straight members
- Hot dip galvanised then twice powder coated
- Mounts on a shared TRAINER pylon, quoted separately
Pylon mounting and installation
The station fixes to a support pylon, which adds around 50 kg and is priced separately along with its foundation. One pylon and one excavation can carry a station on each side where the layout permits, which reduces civil works on a scheme with several units. Reserve the 417 x 370 cm safety area and surface it against the free height of fall on the installation drawing.
Operator duties are the standard ones for publicly accessible outdoor fitness equipment: routine visual checks, periodic operational inspection of the pivots and fixings, and an annual main inspection recorded in the site log.
Frequently asked questions
Is the pylon included in the price?
No. The quoted price covers the station. The pylon and its foundation are quoted separately with delivery and installation.
When is the Steel4Fit version worth the difference?
Where use is intensive and continuous, or where vandalism and salt exposure are realistic risks: city centre parks, campuses, dense residential estates and coastal sites. On a low traffic rural trail the standard range is usually sufficient.
Can the resistance be increased?
No. The lever geometry works against the user own body weight. Progression comes through repetitions, tempo and control, which is standard for unsupervised public equipment.
