Description
The TRAINER Steel4Fit Chest Press is an outdoor upper-body station with a folding seat, usable by ambulant users and by users in a wheelchair. It measures 1,140 x 740 x 1,920-2,020 mm, weighs 50 kg plus a 50 kg pylon, and is certified to EN 16630:2015 by TUV Rheinland. Professional price: 2,220 EUR excluding VAT.
Accessible without being separate
The seat folds away from the training position, so a wheelchair rolls directly into the handles. The same station therefore serves both user groups without a dedicated accessible unit sitting apart from the rest of the circuit – which is what most inclusion briefs now ask for, and what makes the difference between provision that is used and provision that is merely present.
Independent use still depends on the approach: a firm, level route from the accessible path, and surfacing inside the safety area that permits wheel travel.
Movement and muscles worked
The user pushes the handles forward against body-weight resistance. The exercise develops the pectorals, the scapular girdle and the upper limbs. Difficulty is rated medium, and there is no load to select: range of movement and tempo determine the effort.

Where it is specified
Urban parks, schools, residential developments and municipal schemes with an inclusion requirement. EN 16630:2015 covers permanently installed outdoor fitness equipment and is the reference used in public procurement for this category.
It belongs to the Steel4Fit outdoor strength range, so it can be combined with standard and accessible stations on one circuit without a change in finish or anchoring.
Frequently asked questions
Is the pylon included in the weight given?
The station itself weighs 50 kg and its pylon a further 50 kg. Both figures matter for the foundation calculation, which is why they are given separately.
Can it share a pylon with other stations?
Yes. Steel4Fit modules can be grouped on a shared mast, including the triple pylon, which reduces the number of foundations on a compact site.
What surfacing works for wheelchair access?
A bound surface – wet-pour rubber or rubber tiles – within the 414 x 374 cm safety area. Loose-fill surfacing meets the impact requirement but makes the station unreachable in a wheelchair.
