Description
The TRAINER Steel4Fit surfer weighs 30 kg on its own, or 80 kg with the 50 kg supporting pylon, and stands 104.6 x 72.5 x 202 cm. Its safety zone is 397 x 373 cm. The station reproduces the lateral hip swing of a surfboard turn, one of the few outdoor movements that trains rotation rather than push or pull.
Movement pattern and benefits
Standing on the pivoting footplate and holding the fixed handles, the user swings the hips from side to side. The movement is driven by the obliques and the hip abductors while the upper body stays quiet, which makes it useful for balance work and for anyone reintroducing rotational load after a period of inactivity.
- Primary muscles: oblique abdominals and hip musculature
- Secondary benefit: flexibility, balance and coordination
- Difficulty rating: easy, suitable for all ages above 140 cm
- Maximum user weight 150 kg
Steel4Fit reinforced construction
The frame is welded from high-grade steel: curved elements in seamless S355, straight elements in S235. All components are hot-dip galvanised and powder-coated twice, giving a corrosion protection system suited to unsheltered installations. The red and graphite finish, RAL 3000 and RAL 7016, identifies the reinforced range at a glance and holds its colour under UV exposure.

Specifying it for a public site
Pendulum stations attract younger users, so the safety zone matters more here than on a static press: keep 397 x 373 cm genuinely clear and avoid placing the surfer next to a path or a bench. On a mixed trail, pair it with a pulling station and a lower-body press so that a full circuit covers push, pull and rotation.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the weight given twice?
30 kg is the equipment itself; the 50 kg figure is the supporting pylon it mounts on. Use the combined 80 kg when planning handling and lifting on site, and check with us whether the post is already covered by another station in the same order.
Does the movement suit older users?
Yes. The amplitude is limited by the mechanism and the exercise is rated easy, so it is commonly specified for intergenerational fitness areas. Users hold the handles throughout, which keeps the balance demand modest.
What maintenance does the pivot require?
A visual inspection of the bearing housing and the fixings, following the EN 16630 inspection routine, is enough in most cases. The galvanising plus double powder coating means no repainting is scheduled in normal service.
Give us the site location, the number of stations and the surfacing already installed, and we will issue a detailed quotation with lead time, freight and optional certified installation.
