Description
The TRAINER Steel4Fit Twister and Surfer combines two mobility stations on one 51 kg frame, roughly 1,353 x 750 x 1,640 mm. It is certified to EN 16630:2015 by TUV Rheinland and priced at 2,050.80 EUR excluding VAT.
Two stations for the trunk and hips
The twister mobilises the hip joints and the lumbar spine, strengthens the abdominal muscles and stretches the pectorals through the rotation. The surfer works the lower body, loading the abdominal obliques and the hip muscles while training balance and coordination.
Both are rotational movements, and that is the point: almost every other station on an outdoor circuit works in the sagittal plane – pushing, pulling, pedalling. Rotation is the pattern missing from most public fitness areas, and it is the one most closely linked to lower back function in everyday movement.

Where it is installed
Urban parks, municipal fitness areas, campuses, residential developments and other high-traffic public spaces needing the reinforced Steel4Fit build. EN 16630:2015 is the European standard for permanently installed outdoor fitness equipment and is the reference cited in public procurement.
The station belongs to the Steel4Fit outdoor range, sharing finish, anchoring and spare parts with the strength and cardio units on the same circuit.
Positioning it on the circuit
Rotational stations are best placed near the start of a circuit rather than at the end. Used first, the twister and surfer mobilise the hips and thoracic spine before the loaded stations, which is the pattern any coached warm-up follows. Placed at the end, they tend to be skipped.
The pair also works as an entry point for users who will not approach a loaded station on their first visit. Both movements are self-limiting and immediately understandable without signage, which matters on a public site where nobody is on hand to explain the equipment.
Frequently asked questions
Can two people use it at the same time?
Yes. The twister and the surfer are separate stations on one frame, so two users can work simultaneously within the same safety area.
Is it demanding enough for fit users?
The twister and surfer are mobility and coordination stations rather than strength stations. They belong in a circuit alongside loaded equipment, where they serve as warm-up, cool-down and balance work.
What maintenance is required?
An annual check of the rotating bearings, anchor bolts and coating. There is no cable, stack or upholstery, so servicing is limited to fixings, pivots and finish.
