Description
The TRAINER Steel4Fit adductor machine trains leg opening and closing against resistance from a seated position outdoors. Approximately 55 kg, HDPE seats, EN 16630:2015 certified by TUV Rheinland. Price: 1,986 EUR excluding VAT.
The hip movement outdoor areas usually skip
Most outdoor fitness trails offer pushing, pulling and stepping. Lateral hip work is missing almost everywhere, and it is the pattern most relevant to walking stability, to hip health in older users and to injury prevention in field-sport athletes. This station covers abduction and adduction against resistance, strengthening the thighs, hips and glutes, with a benefit to cardio-respiratory condition and motor coordination.
Seats in high-density HDPE
Seats are made from high-density HDPE, resistant to UV and to impact. On an open-access installation the seat is the component that fails first: timber splits, painted steel gets hot in summer and cold in winter, and thin plastic cracks. HDPE is specified precisely because it survives permanent exposure and casual abuse.
Steel4Fit construction
Curved elements in seamless S355 steel, straight components in S235, welded to a high standard, hot-dip galvanised and powder-coated twice for maximum protection against corrosion and UV. Finish in red and graphite, RAL 3000/7016.

Frequently asked questions
Why is this station rated medium rather than easy?
The movement requires seated positioning and a controlled range, which takes slightly more coordination than a stepper or a ski trainer. It remains accessible from adolescence to adulthood, but is not a first-contact station for a completely inactive user.
How is resistance applied?
Resistance comes from the mechanism itself rather than from added weights, which is what makes the station suitable for unsupervised open access: there is nothing to set, nothing to load and nothing that can be left in a dangerous position.
Which sites specify it?
Urban parks, municipal fitness areas, campuses, residential zones and public spaces with heavy usage. It is frequently paired with a stepper and a ski trainer to give a lower-body group covering three distinct patterns.
Pairing with other lower-body stations
Hip abduction and adduction complements the sagittal-plane work delivered by a stepper or a ski trainer. A three-station lower-body group covering stepping, ski and adduction gives a genuinely complete lower-limb offering on a compact area, and the shared Steel4Fit finish keeps the group visually consistent. We size the combined safety zones during the siting study, since adjacent zones may overlap under defined conditions.
