Description
The TRAINER Steel4Fit surfer is an outdoor rotation station that loads the waist and hips through a pivoting movement copied from a surfing stance, rated easy and certified to EN 16630:2015. It is the station that fills the gap almost every outdoor circuit leaves open. Presses, pulls, steppers and rowers all work forwards and backwards; the surfer works rotation, which is the plane in which most everyday back complaints actually occur.

Rotation, mobility and coordination
The user stands on the HDPE platform, holds the handles and swings the lower body from side to side while the shoulders stay relatively still. That dissociation between pelvis and thorax is precisely what the obliques control, and it also mobilises the lumbar and thoracic spine through a range that sitting removes. Because the effort is self limiting and the rating is easy, the station is used by children accompanied by adults, by older visitors and by athletes as a warm up, which makes it one of the most continuously occupied units in a circuit.
- Strengthens the abdominal obliques, waist and hips
- Mobilises the spine in rotation, a plane other stations ignore
- Improves flexibility and whole body coordination
- Easy rating, no strength threshold and no technique to learn
- HDPE platform, non splintering and unaffected by weather
Configuration and installation
Dimensions and weight vary with the mounting configuration, which is why the figures above are given as ranges: the station can be supplied for different post arrangements, and the definitive envelope, safety area and mass appear on the installation drawing supplied with the quotation. Where a post is required it adds around 50 kg plus its foundation.
Construction is the Steel4Fit standard: seamless S355 for curved elements, S235 for straight parts, hot dip galvanised and then powder coated twice in red and graphite. The rotating joint is the component under the highest cycle count on this station, so include it explicitly in the routine operational inspection along with the platform fixings and the anchorage.
Frequently asked questions
Who is it suitable for?
Visitors from 140 cm in height and up to 150 kg. The easy rating and the absence of any load to lift make it accessible to beginners, older users and anyone returning to activity.
Why do the dimensions appear as a range?
Because the station is offered in more than one mounting configuration. The exact dimensions, weight and safety area for the version you order are confirmed on the installation drawing.
Does it need any maintenance?
Only inspection. There is no stack, no cable and no setting. Check the rotating joint, the platform fixings and the anchorage during routine visits, and record the annual main inspection.
