Description
The Power Line Rotary Torso is a selectorised oblique station with a 100 kg weight stack. It measures 1420 x 1150 x 1655 mm and weighs 185 kg, and the rotation range can be set to the mobility of the user. Professional price: 2,450 EUR excluding VAT.
Rotation is the movement most floors leave out
Almost every machine on a gym floor works in the sagittal plane: pushing, pulling, flexing and extending. Trunk rotation is the plane nobody trains, and it is the one that matters in racket sports, combat sports, throwing, golf and most manual work. This station loads it directly, with the pelvis fixed so the rotation comes from the trunk rather than from the hips.
- Selectorised 100 kg weight stack
- Adjustable rotation range, set to the mobility of the user
- Fixed lower body position so rotation occurs at the trunk
- Rotation in both directions from the same seated position
- Steel weight plates insulated with noise-reducing PVC
- PU foam padding with synthetic leather
Muscles worked
Primary load on the internal and external obliques, with the rectus abdominis and the deep stabilisers working to hold trunk position through the rotation. Trained through a controlled range, this group supports spinal stability as well as rotational power.
Set-up and safety
Set the rotation range conservatively before the first session and extend it only as mobility allows. Load should stay light on a rotational movement: the aim is controlled range and speed, not maximum weight. Keep the pelvis fixed against the pads throughout so the lumbar spine is not rotated under load.

Frequently asked questions
Who benefits most from a rotary torso station?
Athletes in rotational sports, members in physical preparation programmes, and anyone whose work involves twisting under load. It is also widely used in supervised rehabilitation, where controlled rotation is reintroduced gradually.
Should heavy loads be used?
No. Rotational work responds to controlled range and quality of movement rather than to load. A weight that allows the full set range to be completed without the pelvis shifting is the correct one.
How much floor space is required?
The machine occupies 1420 x 1150 mm. Allow clear access at the rear for the stack and enough width for the arms to travel through the full rotation without contacting a neighbouring machine.
