Bodytone FBC02 Preacher Curl Bench

The Bodytone FBC02 is a preacher curl bench. The angled arm pad fixes the upper arm so the elbow cannot travel backwards, which removes the swing that turns a standing curl into a partial back exercise.

Removing the cheat

Standing barbell curls are performed badly by most gym members: the hips drive, the torso rocks, and the biceps do a fraction of the work. On a preacher bench the upper arm is supported on a fixed incline, so the only joint that can move is the elbow. Load drops, quality rises, and the member finally feels the muscle they came to train. For an instructor it is one of the easiest exercises to correct because the equipment does the correcting.

Placement on the floor

The FBC02 works best sited next to the dumbbell rack or the bar rack rather than in the machine line, because the user needs a bar or dumbbell within reach before sitting down. Its 121 x 87 cm footprint is compact enough for a corner position, and the seated design means little circulation space is needed behind it.

Life on a commercial floor

A preacher bench is used seated, with the forearms resting on the pad and the chest against the top edge. That concentrates perspiration on one surface, so the arm pad is the component that shows wear first and the one to inspect at every maintenance visit. Wiping stations placed within reach of the bench materially extend upholstery life, and are worth specifying at fit-out rather than added later after the first pad has to be replaced.

Is an EZ bar included?

No. Bars and dumbbells are separate items and should be confirmed on the quotation if you are not already stocked.

Does it suit shorter and taller users equally?

The seated position and fixed pad angle suit the majority of adult users. Where a facility serves a wide range of statures, pair it with adjustable-seat cable work rather than relying on it alone for elbow flexion training.
