Description
The Bodytone FBC04 is a flat bench for upper-body training. There is nothing adjustable about it, and that is precisely its function: a fixed horizontal pad at a consistent height, bought in quantity, that gives a free-weight area its baseline capacity.
The quantity item
Every free-weight zone needs more flat benches than any other bench type. They are used for dumbbell pressing, for supported rows, for step-ups, for seated work between sets and as a place for a coach to demonstrate. Because there is no adjustment mechanism there is nothing to break, nothing to seize and nothing for a member to set wrongly. At 25 kg, the FBC04 is also the easiest bench on the floor to move out of the way.
Specification
- Fixed flat pad, 42 cm high.
- Footprint 136 x 68 cm, net weight 25 kg.
- No adjustment mechanism and no moving parts.
- Used with dumbbells, barbells or plates, which are quoted separately.
Budgeting and quantity
Flat benches are usually the last line on an equipment schedule and the one most often under-ordered. As a working figure, plan one flat bench per dumbbell rack section plus two for general floor use, then adjust against your class programme. Volume pricing applies across multi-bench orders, so it is worth settling the quantity before the quotation is issued rather than adding units later.
Cleaning and turnover
Flat benches carry the highest turnover of users of any item on a strength floor, which makes them the main hygiene point rather than the main mechanical one. There is no adjustment mechanism to seize, so the maintenance schedule reduces to upholstery inspection and cleaning. Position wiping stations so that no bench is more than a few steps from one; in practice that does more for the life of the pad than any specification decision.

Frequently asked questions
Flat or adjustable — which should we buy more of?
More flat benches. Adjustable benches cover the incline and decline work, but the majority of bench-minutes on a commercial floor are spent horizontal, and flat benches cost less per unit.
Can it be used for barbell bench pressing?
Only inside a rack with the uprights set correctly, since the FBC04 has no uprights of its own. For a self-contained pressing station, specify a bench with integrated uprights.
What are the delivery and installation lead times?
Allow 3 to 6 weeks from order to commissioning in mainland France, 4 to 6 weeks in Belgium and 5 to 7 weeks in Switzerland.
