Description
The Bodytone FBC11 is an abdominal bench with an adjustable decline. Changing the angle changes the resistance, so the same station serves a beginner working near horizontal and a trained user at a steep decline, across the full range of crunch and sit-up variations.
Angle as the progression variable
Abdominal training on the floor has one problem for an operator: there is no way to make it measurably harder. A member does more repetitions, gets bored and stops. On an adjustable decline bench the load is the angle, which gives instructors a number to prescribe and members a visible progression. It is also the reason a single station covers an entire membership rather than one segment of it.
Specification
- Multiple decline positions for crunches, sit-ups and their variations.
- Foot and shin restraint holding position through the range.
- Footprint 168 x 68 cm, height 87 cm, net weight 49 kg.
- No weight stack; progression is by decline angle and, if required, a held plate.
Placing it on the floor
The FBC11 is narrow, at 68 cm, and benefits from being placed in a row with other benches rather than isolated. Allow room at the head end for the user to extend, and add access and circulation space to the footprint on the layout drawing. See the wider weight benches range for matching units.
Hygiene and placement
An abdominal bench is used lying down, with the head and back in direct contact with the pad, so it is one of the stations members most expect to find clean. Site it within sight of a wiping station and include the upholstery in the daily cleaning round rather than the weekly one. Mechanically there is little to maintain beyond the decline adjustment and the foot restraint, both of which are checked at the periodic service.

Can it be used flat?
The shallowest setting gives a near-horizontal position suitable for beginners. It is not a substitute for a flat pressing bench.
What are the delivery and installation lead times?
Allow 3 to 6 weeks from order to commissioning in mainland France, 4 to 6 weeks in Belgium and 5 to 7 weeks in Switzerland.
