Description
The Bodytone FBC17 is a sissy squat bench. It fixes the ankles and shins so the user can lean back through the knee joint, loading the quadriceps through a long range while the glutes, soleus and abdominals work to hold the line of the body.
A bodyweight station that needs no plates
At 102 x 71 cm and 47 cm high, the FBC17 is one of the smallest items on a strength floor. It carries no stack and needs no bar: resistance comes from body weight and the angle of the lean, with a plate held at the chest for progression. That makes it cheap to install, easy to move during a floor reconfiguration, and useful in studios and hotel gyms where a full leg machine cannot be justified.
What it actually trains
- Quadriceps through knee extension under a long eccentric.
- Glutes and soleus as stabilisers holding the body line.
- Abdominals resisting extension at the hip.
- Ankle and knee control, useful for skiers, cyclists and court-sport athletes.
Coaching notes for operators
The sissy squat is demanding on the knee at end range and is not a beginner exercise. Put it where instructors can see it, and brief staff to introduce it with a shortened range before allowing a full lean. Used properly it is one of the few pieces of equipment that gives visible quadriceps development without loading the spine at all — a strong selling point for members returning from a back problem.

Frequently asked questions
Does it need to be bolted down?
No. The 33 kg net weight and the low centre of gravity keep it stable in use, and it can be moved by one member of staff.
Is it suitable for a hotel or residential gym?
Yes, provided some instruction is available. It gives a serious lower-body option in a space where a leg press would not fit.
What are the delivery and installation lead times?
Allow 3 to 6 weeks from order to commissioning in mainland France, 4 to 6 weeks in Belgium and 5 to 7 weeks in Switzerland.
