Description
The Bodytone FBC01 is a Smith machine: a barbell running on fixed vertical guides, with catches at multiple heights. It covers bench press, shoulder press and squats in a single frame, with the bar path controlled throughout.
The station that lets members train alone
The commercial argument for a Smith machine is simple. A member who arrives at an off-peak hour has no spotter, and without one they will not press or squat anywhere near a useful load. The guided bar and the catch positions remove that constraint: the bar can be parked at any point in the range by rotating the wrists. For clubs with unstaffed hours, a 24-hour access model or a large proportion of solo trainers, it is one of the highest-utilisation pieces on the floor.
Specification
- Guided barbell on fixed vertical rails.
- Catch positions at multiple heights for bench press, shoulder press and squats.
- Maximum load 200 kg.
- Footprint 204 x 165 cm, height 215 cm, net weight 178 kg.
- Plates and a bench are separate items.
Installation notes
The 215 cm height needs checking against the ceiling in basement and mezzanine gyms, as does the clearance above for a user pressing overhead. The 178 kg net weight plus 200 kg of plates plus the user is a concentrated load that must be verified against the permissible floor loading above ground level. A flat or adjustable bench is required for the pressing exercises and should be on the same order.

Frequently asked questions
Does a Smith machine replace a power rack?
No. It removes the stabilising demand, which is exactly what makes it useful for solo training and exactly why strength-trained members will still want a rack. Most floors carry both.
Is a bench supplied with it?
No. A flat or adjustable bench is needed for the pressing exercises and is a separate line item on the quotation.
What are the delivery and installation lead times?
Allow 3 to 6 weeks from order to commissioning in mainland France, 4 to 6 weeks in Belgium and 5 to 7 weeks in Switzerland.
