Description
The Fitness Tech F40 multipower Smith machine runs a 1:1 ratio, so every kilogram shown on the selector is a real kilogram of resistance at the cable. That direct transmission is the reason the F40 is specified by advanced lifters and by facilities that need progression controlled to the kilogram. With 185 kg selectable across two columns of 92.5 kg and a 450 kg structure, it is the most demanding model in the F series.
The guided bar is assisted by additional pulleys, which keeps the travel smooth through both the concentric and the eccentric phase. An integrated low row accessory adds horizontal pulling for the back, so the station covers pressing, squatting and rowing without the user leaving the frame. The multi grip pull up bar is rated at 350 kg, and the Olympic bar itself will take approximately 270 kg of discs.

Professional use and configuration
The 1:1 ratio is the defining choice on this machine and it should drive the buying decision. It delivers the real load without mechanical loss, which suits heavy strength work and precise programming, but it also means the perceived resistance is higher than on a 2:1 station at the same selector setting, so members transferring from another machine need to be told. For a facility running measured progression, whether in athletic preparation or in supervised reconditioning, that transparency is worth more than the smoother feel of a reduced ratio.
The F40 accepts dedicated jammer arms (FT-28713), the F30/F40 leg press (FT-28714) and the F series front seat, all fitted with quick attachment, so the station can be built up in stages as the training offer develops. At 450 kg for the structure alone, plus discs and selectable weight, the installed mass is substantial: confirm the floor build up before installing above ground level and plan the delivery route, since the frame arrives in sections but the columns are heavy.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a 1:1 and a 2:1 ratio?
At 2:1 the resistance felt at the cable is half the selected weight, with a longer and softer movement. At 1:1 the load is transmitted in full, so the work is more intense and progression can be steered to the kilogram.
Which F series accessories fit the F40?
The dedicated jammer arms FT-28713, the F30/F40 leg press FT-28714 and the F series front seat. All mount with quick fixings and can be quoted with the machine.
