Description
The TRAINER D05 outdoor quadriceps press is a compact pylon-mounted strength station weighing 39 kg, occupying 119.5 x 55.2 x 157.2 cm and requiring a clear safety zone of 416 x 356 cm. It belongs to the OutdoorFit range, a family of space-efficient units that share a single supporting post instead of each needing its own ground frame.
Movement and muscles worked
The user sits on the moulded seat, places both feet on the footplate and extends the legs against body weight. The resistance curve is progressive rather than fixed, so the same station suits a first-time user and a regular trainee. Range of motion is bounded mechanically, which removes the risk of hyperextension in an unsupervised public setting.
- Primary muscles: quadriceps and gluteal group
- Secondary recruitment: lower abdominals and hip stabilisers
- Difficulty rating: moderate, suited to intermediate users
- Minimum user height 140 cm, maximum user weight 150 kg
Construction and weather resistance
The structure is built from high-grade steel, shot-blasted and galvanised before painting, then finished with a double layer of polyester paint rated for UV exposure and rainfall. Four standard colourways are stocked: yellow (RAL 1018/7004), graphite (RAL 7016/9006), orange (RAL 2000/9006) and lime (RAL 6018/9006). Other RAL references can be quoted on request for projects that follow a municipal colour charter.
Compliance and certification
The station complies with EN 16630:2015, the European standard covering permanently installed outdoor fitness equipment, and has been tested and approved by TUV Rheinland. That certification covers structural strength, entrapment clearances and finger-trap risk, which is what a local authority procurement file normally asks for.

Planning the installation
Because the unit is pylon-mounted, the civil works are lighter than for a free-standing machine: one concrete foundation carries up to three stations depending on the post chosen. Allow for the safety zone in the site plan and confirm the surfacing specification, since EN 16630 sets impact-attenuation requirements according to free height of fall. The supporting post is a separate line item and is not included in the price shown above.
Frequently asked questions
Is the supporting pylon included in the price?
No. The 1,392 EUR excluding VAT covers the quadriceps press unit only. The post is ordered separately, and a triple pylon support post lets three stations share one foundation, which usually reduces the installed cost per station.
How much ground area should be reserved?
The equipment itself measures 119.5 x 55.2 cm, but the planning figure is the safety zone: 416 x 356 cm of clear surface around the station, kept free of benches, planters and neighbouring equipment.
Can it be installed on an existing wall?
Yes, provided the wall is genuinely load-bearing and the fixing substrate has been checked by the works contractor. Send us the wall build-up and we will confirm feasibility before the order is placed.
Tell us the number of stations, the surfacing already in place and the delivery address, and we will return a costed quotation including freight and, if required, installation by an approved fitter.
