Description
The Solid Rock SRX31 is a plate loaded iso lateral triceps extension machine rated for 250 kg, built on a 3 mm carbon steel chassis. Each arm is loaded and worked independently, which is the point of the design: a member with a stronger dominant side cannot compensate, so both triceps take the full effort of their own repetition. Over a training block that is the difference between correcting an imbalance and reinforcing it.

Iso lateral loading and elbow comfort
A bilateral triceps machine averages the effort across both arms. An iso lateral machine does not, and that changes how the station is used: single arm sets, alternating sets, and unequal loading to bring a weaker side up. The pushing path is set to keep the elbow tracking in line with the shoulder, which limits the joint stress that members typically report on cable pushdowns performed with a fixed bar.
- Independent arms for unilateral work and imbalance correction
- 250 kg total capacity using standard Olympic plates
- 6205 precision bearings on Ø25 mm axles for a quiet, consistent stroke
- Loaded stretch position through to full lockout on all three triceps heads
- Plate loaded, no cables or selector to service
Placing the station in an arm area
The D shaped base gives a compact footprint, so the SRX31 sits well next to a biceps curl station to form a two machine arm corner at the end of a plate loaded row. Because each arm is loaded separately, the plate handling frequency is higher than on a bilateral machine, so keep a plate tree adjacent and stock small increments of 1.25 and 2.5 kg, which are the ones members actually use here.
Servicing is the usual plate loaded routine: inspect the bearings and axle pivots, check that the loading horns are free of burrs, tighten the frame bolts periodically and wipe the upholstery with a neutral cleaner. The antibacterial EVA foam under the grained leather cover is specified for sweat resistance on a high contact pad.
Frequently asked questions
Can the two arms be loaded differently?
Yes, and that is one of the main reasons to specify an iso lateral machine. A weaker side can be trained with a lighter load, or worked with an extra set, without altering the other arm.
How does it compare with a cable pushdown?
A cable pushdown gives constant tension but a single fixed path shared by both arms. The SRX31 gives an independent path per arm and a defined stretch position at the top of the movement, which loads the long head of the triceps more consistently.
Are plates included?
No. The machine is plate loaded and supplied without weights, so an existing Olympic plate stock can be used. Plates and a storage tree are quoted separately.
