Description
The SRX04 Pectoral Fly is the plate-loaded chest station of the Bodytone Solid Rock range: two independent iso-lateral arms, a 3 mm carbon steel frame and Olympic plate horns rated for 250 kg of loading. Light In Fitness distributes it across France and Europe at 1,719.50 EUR excluding VAT.
Independent arms for a free-weight feel
Each arm of the SRX04 travels on its own axis. The right and left sides share no linkage, so a stronger side cannot compensate for a weaker one, which is the classic limitation of a single-lever pec deck. Coaches use this to correct asymmetries after injury; experienced lifters use it to hold tension through the final degrees of adduction, where selectorised machines tend to lose resistance.
- Iso-lateral movement with an independent path for each arm
- Guided trajectory that keeps the shoulder joint in a controlled arc
- Loading by Olympic discs rather than a stack, allowing fine progression above stack limits
- Compact D-shaped base that keeps the footprint tight in a busy free-weight zone
Frame and mechanical build
The chassis uses 100 x 50 mm and 75 x 50 mm carbon steel sections in 3 mm wall thickness, robot-welded and reinforced with 8/10 mm gusset plates at the load-bearing joints. Pivots run on 6205 precision bearings with calibrated steel bushings of 65 mm diameter, which is what keeps the arc quiet and free of dead spots after several years of daily use.
Upholstery is high-density EVA foam with an antibacterial surface. It repels perspiration instead of absorbing it, so cleaning is a wipe with a neutral detergent. That is a practical point for clubs running extended or 24/7 opening hours.
Who the SRX04 suits
- Commercial gyms building a dedicated plate-loaded zone
- Strength and conditioning facilities training powerlifting and bodybuilding athletes
- Rehabilitation centres that need unilateral upper-body loading
- Hotel and corporate gyms where a full stack machine footprint is not available

Frequently asked questions
Why choose a plate-loaded chest machine rather than a selectorised one?
Plate loading reproduces the resistance profile of free weights inside a guided path, and it lets you add small increments once a lifter passes the top of a typical stack. It is also cheaper to keep in service: no cable, no pulley train and no weight stack to maintain.
Does the SRX04 have to be bolted to the floor?
No. The D-shaped base and the mass of the frame keep it stable under full load, so it can be positioned freely and moved when you reorganise the floor. Anchoring is still possible where site rules require it.
What maintenance does it need?
A quarterly visual check of the bearing housings and gusset bolts, plus daily wiping of the EVA pads. There are no consumable wear parts on a normal service interval.
