Description
The Bodytone Solid Rock SR01E is a plate-loaded converging chest press with a training load of up to 240 kg. The frame uses 110 x 52 mm steel tube in 3 mm wall thickness, welded to EN 10219 in S275J0H quality, for a machine weight of 150 kg on a 185 x 107 cm footprint. Professional price: 2,550 EUR excluding VAT.
Converging path, natural pressing arc
The handles travel inwards as the arms extend, reproducing the arc a barbell cannot follow and a parallel-track machine forbids. The practical effect is a fuller contraction of the pectoralis major at the end of the press and less strain on the anterior shoulder at the start, across a wide range of shoulder widths.
- Plate-loaded converging chest press
- Training load up to 240 kg, 310 mm pins taking six 20 kg Bodytone plates per arm
- Two storage horns per side, four 20 kg plates each
- Chromed seat post, eight positions, laser-etched numbering
- Knurled anodised aluminium handles
- Recommended user height range approximately 150 to 200 cm
Muscles worked
The primary target is the pectoralis major, with the anterior deltoid and triceps assisting. The back support removes the stabilisation demand of a free-weight bench, which makes the station usable without a spotter and therefore appropriate for a busy commercial floor as well as for supervised strength work.
Build and compliance
Tube is cold formed on a four-roller bender to preserve the mechanical properties of the section. Pivots run on double tapered roller SKF bearings with a closed anti-loosening ring. Paint is applied in three coats: antioxidant primer and epoxy polyester powder finish. Seat and back use moulded high-density EVA foam under perspiration-resistant, antibacterial and hypoallergenic synthetic leather. The machine is built to EN ISO 20957-1 class S, the usage class covering professional and commercial installations.

Frequently asked questions
What does class S mean on a chest press?
Class S is the usage class defined in EN ISO 20957-1 for equipment intended for professional and commercial installations, as opposed to class H for domestic use. It sets higher requirements for structural strength, stability and durability testing, which is what a machine on an open commercial floor has to meet.
How much load can the SR01E take?
Up to 240 kg of training load: six 20 kg plates on each 310 mm pin. A further four plates per side sit on the storage horns, so a heavy working set can be assembled at the machine.
What floor area should be planned?
The unit occupies 185 x 107 cm and stands 173 cm high. Allow 70 to 80 cm of clear access on the loading side. On an upper floor, check the slab capacity: 150 kg of frame plus up to 240 kg of plates on four feet.
The SR01E is quoted at 2,550 EUR excluding VAT, before delivery and installation, with delivery available across France, Belgium and Switzerland. Plates are quoted separately. Send us your layout and we will return a complete chest-zone proposal within 24 to 72 hours. The full range is under Solid Rock plate loaded.
