Description
The Bodytone Olympic hip thrust is a plate loaded glute bridge station built for heavy, controlled posterior chain work in professional gyms. It replaces the improvised barbell and bench setup with a fixed frame that guides the movement, supports the torso and accepts up to 280 kg of Olympic plates on 50 mm diameter sleeves. The result is a stable hip extension pattern that advanced lifters can load hard without the setup time, the spotting requirement or the barbell rollover risk of the free weight version.
The frame is high strength steel specified for daily intensive use, running on double tapered SKF roller bearings so the movement stays smooth and precise under load. The foot platform adjusts across several heights to suit different leg lengths and to change the angle at which the glutes take the load, and a wide padded strap holds the lifter in position during heavy sets. Finish is a scratch, impact and corrosion resistant powder coat, available in a custom colour to order.

Building a lower body zone around it
The hip thrust has become the anchor movement of the glute and lower body areas that clubs now market as a distinct training zone. Around this station, plan storage for Olympic plates within arm’s reach on each side, since a working set at 200 kg or more means loading and stripping several plates between users. Weightlifting grade rubber flooring under the station protects the slab and absorbs the noise of plates being seated, and a mirror on the working side helps users check hip alignment at lockdown.
The station suits commercial gyms, coaching studios, athletic preparation centres and demanding private facilities. Compared with a barbell hip thrust performed against a bench, the guided path improves execution safety and the muscular sensation, while the adjustable platform lets each user set the shin angle that isolates the glutes best for their morphology. It is equally at home in aesthetics oriented programming and in sports performance work on sprint and jump mechanics.
Frequently asked questions
How much weight can it take?
Up to 280 kg of standard Olympic plates on 50 mm sleeves, which covers advanced and competitive lifters. Plates are not included and are quoted separately if you need them.
Does it suit beginners as well as strong lifters?
Yes. The guided trajectory and the padded strap make the movement easy to teach at light loads, and the adjustable foot platform accommodates short and tall users. The same frame then carries an experienced lifter to heavy loads without any change of setup.
Can the colour be matched to our branding?
The powder coat colour is customisable to order. Confirm the RAL reference with your enquiry so it can be scheduled in production, and allow additional lead time above the 5 to 10 working day shipping window that applies to stock items.
