Converging path for the shoulder

The handles move closer together as the press rises, following the natural arc of the shoulder joint instead of forcing a fixed parallel track. That reduces the shear load at the top of the movement and gives a more complete deltoid contraction, which is why converging geometry has become the standard on commercial shoulder press stations.
