Description
Hamster carries two platforms joined by a braided rope net, so several children swing together standing, sitting or lying across the net between the decks. Each platform is surfaced with at least 10 mm of EPDM rubber and enclosed by a perimeter guardrail.
Two decks, one shared movement
The double-platform layout changes how children coordinate. Weight shifted on one deck is felt on the other, so the group has to negotiate the rhythm rather than each child swinging alone. The rope net between the decks becomes the third position: children lie in it, climb across it and use it to move between platforms while the whole assembly is moving.
- Two steel rings in 88.9 mm tube joined by cross members
- Braided polyamide rope net, 18 mm, reinforced with galvanised steel wire
- Two platforms with an EPDM layer of at least 10 mm and a perimeter guardrail each
- Plastic and aluminium connectors
- Main structure in corrosion-resistant stainless steel

Siting
At 7.5 x 4.2 m the safety area is modest for an item that takes a group, which makes Hamster a good answer for schools and residential schemes that want collective play without the footprint of a large nest swing. Surface the full area to EN 1176-1 against the 1.5 m free height of fall.
Maintenance
The EPDM deck covering and the rope net are the wearing components; both are inspected for abrasion and fixing security under the routine, operational and annual regime required by EN 1176. The stainless structure needs no painting.
Frequently asked questions
Why are guardrails fitted to the platforms?
They contain users on decks that move, which is the difference between a swinging platform and a static one. They are part of the certified configuration and must not be removed.
Is it suitable for children under three?
The stated range starts at 3 years. Younger children in a mixed-age play area should be directed to a cradle seat or a nest swing instead.
Can the rope net be replaced separately?
Yes. The net is a replaceable assembly, so wear over the years does not require changing the platforms or the structure.
