Description
Mab puts three swings on a single axis of rotation, hung at 2.5 m, 3.2 m and 3.9 m, so one structure covers the whole age range instead of forcing a choice. The frame is 88.9 mm grade 0H18N9 stainless steel tube, split into two sections separated by a central brace.
Three heights, one structure
Suspension height determines the character of a swing: a short suspension gives a quick, tight arc that suits small children, a long one gives the slow, high sweep that older children want. Most play areas resolve this by installing two separate frames. Mab resolves it in one, and the staggered heights also spread the users along the structure so that the arcs do not compete for the same ground.

At 4.4 m high, Mab is a visible structure and works best as a deliberate focal point rather than tucked against a boundary. The safety area of 10.5 x 5.9 m must be surfaced to EN 1176-1 against a free height of fall of 2.3 m, which is the figure that drives the surfacing specification and therefore the budget.
Maintenance
Chains and bearings on the highest suspension see the greatest travel, so they set the maintenance rhythm for the whole item. Inspection follows the routine, operational and annual regime required by EN 1176, and the stainless frame needs no coating maintenance.

Can cradle seats be fitted for toddlers?
The seat type on each suspension is specified with the order. Sites serving the full 0 to 14 range usually take a cradle seat on the lowest position.
Does the 3.9 m suspension need more space behind it?
The stated safety area already accounts for the three arcs. It should not be reduced on the assumption that the tallest bay behaves like the others.
Why stainless steel rather than galvanised?
On a tall frame the top of the structure is the hardest part to reinspect and recoat. Stainless removes that cycle entirely, which is why it is specified here.
