Description
This double see-saw is a low, deliberately simple piece of equipment: two children face each other, push off in turn and learn to read each other’s rhythm. Everything sits close to the ground, the handles are sized for small hands and the ends are fitted with buffers, so it is one of the few items that works for the youngest users of a play area without needing constant adult intervention.
A first balance experience
- Low profile throughout: overall height is 1.0 m and the free height of fall is 1.0 m, the lowest of any moving item in the range.
- Ergonomic tubular handles positioned for a secure two-handed grip.
- Shock-absorbing buffers at both ends, so the beam never strikes the ground hard and the ride stays predictable.
- Face-to-face seating, which turns the item into a social exchange rather than a solo ride and works well in nursery and reception yards.
Materials and finish
- Main beam in stainless steel tube, 89.1 mm diameter.
- Handles in stainless steel tube, 21.3 mm diameter.
- Pedestal in square stainless steel section, 70 x 70 mm.
- Fixings in stainless or corrosion-resistant steel.
The whole visible structure is stainless steel, left uncoated. For nurseries and schools that repaint nothing and inspect everything, that is the point: no flaking coating to log as a defect, no rust staining on the surfacing, and cleaning is the only routine care the frame needs.
Siting and safety area
Allow a minimum impact area of 5.0 by 2.5 m. With a free height of fall of 1.0 m the surfacing requirement is modest compared with climbing items, which is why this see-saw is often the item that lets a small yard include a moving element at all. Foundations are concrete pads 0.6 m deep. It combines naturally with spring riders in a toddler zone.

Frequently asked questions
What surfacing does a 1.0 m fall height require?
A surface tested for at least 1.0 m of free fall height. Turf and topsoil are acceptable at that height on well-drained ground, but most operators specify a tested surface because it keeps the whole play area under one inspection regime.
Do the buffers wear out?
They are the consumable part of the item and are designed to be. They are checked at each functional inspection and replaced individually, without removing the beam.
Can it be installed indoors or on an existing slab?
Yes, with a surface-mounted base plate in place of the buried pads. Tell us the slab thickness at quotation stage so the correct fixing kit is supplied.
Send us the dimensions of your toddler zone and its current surfacing, and we will confirm the layout and return a costed proposal including foundations, installation and the compliance file.
