Description
The Gold Line glute extension is a plate-loaded machine measuring 143 x 156.5 x 121 cm, weighing 120 kg and rated for users up to 180 kg. It belongs to the Plate Loaded Gold Line, a range positioned to deliver commercial build quality at a mid-market price rather than to compete at the top of the equipment budget.
Converging, independent loading
The two loading arms work independently, so each leg is driven by its own resistance and a strength asymmetry cannot be masked by the stronger side. The converging geometry brings the path inwards through the range, which follows the natural line of hip extension rather than forcing a fixed arc. In practice that means the machine can be programmed for unilateral work as easily as for bilateral, which is what makes it useful in both strength and rehabilitation settings.
- Independent arms for unilateral or bilateral loading
- Converging path matched to the hip extension line
- Safety bar limiting the working range
- Quick-release seat adjustment
- Adjustment points marked in yellow for immediate identification
Frame and materials
The structure uses hot-rolled SPHC oval steel tube in a 120 x 50 x 3 mm section, cut by laser and assembled by robot welding for repeatable joint geometry. Protection is a powder-coating system of two initial layers plus a finishing coat, around 300 microns in total, which is several times the thickness of a single-pass decorative finish and the reason the frame holds up to trolley knocks and dropped discs. Standard colours are black or grey, with custom colours available.
Contact surfaces
Pads are built on high-density polyurethane foam under 2 mm upholstery, with a twin pneumatic cylinder reinforcement in the seat construction, and are shaped to hold posture through the movement. Grip areas use extra-strength TPR-EVA, soft under the hand but resistant to the tearing that ends the life of cheaper grips. Non-slip rubber feet hold the machine in position on the floor.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose plate loading over a weight stack?
Plate-loaded machines have no cable, no pulley and no guide rods, so there is less to service and the purchase price is lower. The cost is time between sets. For a glute station used for heavy programmed work rather than circuit training, that trade is usually worth making.
What does the 300 micron coating change in daily use?
Coating thickness determines how the frame looks after several years on a busy floor. At around 300 microns, a knock from a disc leaves a mark rather than exposing bare steel, which is what starts corrosion under the paint.
Can the machine be finished in our colours?
Yes. Black and grey are standard; custom colours are available and are quoted per order, so confirm the finish at the same time as the quantity.
Tell us how many stations you are fitting out, the colour you want and your delivery address, and we will return a quotation covering equipment, discs if required, delivery and assembly.
