Description
The Rear Kick glute machine from the Strong Line by Ellipse range is a plate-loaded hip extension station: 150 kg frame, 1,115 x 1,330 mm footprint, 1,650 mm high, loaded with 50 mm Olympic plates. Professional price: 1,950 EUR excluding VAT.
Standing hip extension on a dedicated frame
The rear kick is unilateral hip extension performed standing, with the torso supported and the working leg driving backwards against the load. It is the movement clubs currently improvise with cable ankle straps and resistance bands, neither of which loads heavily or holds a queue. On a dedicated frame with Olympic plate loading, the same movement becomes a strength exercise with no practical ceiling on load.
Muscles worked
- Gluteus maximus, as the prime mover in hip extension
- Gluteus medius, stabilising the pelvis through the movement
- Hamstrings, secondary: semitendinosus, semimembranosus and biceps femoris
Exercise variations
- Unilateral rear kick, the primary movement
- Progressive-load kickbacks worked one side at a time
- Partial-range work targeting the peak contraction
Construction
High-resistance steel chassis, powder-coated in two coats with a clear top coat. High-resistance nylon pulleys, 105 x 20 mm, on sealed 6202RS bearings. PU foam upholstery with a high-density synthetic leather cover, and aluminium working surfaces at the handles and foot contact points. All user adjustment points are colour-coded in yellow, and seat height is set with a quick spring-pin system. Structure colour and arm frame colour are both specified at order.
Who specifies it
Commercial strength gyms completing a lower-body zone; boutique studios whose membership is built around glute training; functional rehabilitation centres working on hip mechanics; and strength and conditioning coaches training lower-limb power. The 150 kg frame mass is above the 100 to 120 kg typical of comparable glute stations, which is what keeps the machine planted under a heavy unilateral drive.

Frequently asked questions
What is the maximum load?
The machine takes 50 mm Olympic plates, so the working load is determined by the plates loaded on the holder rather than by a fixed stack. The 150 kg chassis is sized to remain stable at high loads.
Can the finish be matched to our club identity?
Yes. Structure colour and arm frame colour are configured at order. Send us your RAL references with the enquiry so the finish is confirmed before production starts.
Is it suitable for continuous commercial use?
Yes. The Strong Line range is specified for intensive daily professional use in gyms, sports clubs and fitness centres. Routine servicing is limited to pulley and bearing inspection, fastener torque checks and upholstery care.
Professional price: 1,950 EUR excluding VAT. Plates, delivery and on-site assembly are quoted separately. Send us your lower-body zone requirement and we will return a full specification and price within 24 to 72 hours.
