Description
The Gold Line Vertical Leg Press is a plate-loaded leg station that loads the quadriceps, glutes and hamstrings on a vertical guided path. It measures 205 x 100 x 147 cm, weighs 225 kg and takes users up to 180 kg. Light In Fitness supplies it at 1,695 EUR excluding VAT.
Why a vertical press rather than a 45-degree press
A conventional 45-degree leg press eats between four and five square metres of floor and puts the loaded carriage at the back of the machine, away from the user. The vertical format turns the movement upright: the user lies under the platform and presses straight up. Footprint drops to roughly two square metres, the resistance vector runs through the hip and knee in line with gravity, and the range of motion at the hip is longer, which is why the vertical press recruits the glutes and hamstrings more heavily than the inclined version.
- Guided vertical movement, no lateral drift under load
- Olympic 50 mm plate posts on two loading levels
- Safety bar limiting the bottom of the range of motion
- Non-slip platform and rubber floor feet
Frame and finish
The structure is built from hot-rolled SPHC oval steel tube in 150 x 50 mm section with a 3 mm wall, laser cut and robot welded. Pads use 2 mm upholstery leather over high-density polyurethane foam on a twin-cylinder reinforced backing; grips are TPR-EVA. The finish is a powder coating applied as two protective base coats plus a final top coat, in black or grey as standard, with custom colours available on request.
Adjustment points are marked in yellow so a new user can find the seat setting without instruction, and the seat uses a quick-release adjustment rather than a threaded knob.

Frequently asked questions
How much floor space does it actually need in service?
The machine itself occupies 205 x 100 cm. Allow a clear metre at the entry end for the user to get in and out, and access on at least one side for loading plates. In practice budget around 4 m2 including circulation, against 7 to 8 m2 for a 45-degree press of equivalent capacity.
Is the vertical press suitable for beginners?
Yes, with the safety bar set. The bar limits how far the platform can descend, which prevents the excessive hip flexion that causes lower-back rounding in inexperienced users. Set it during induction and the movement becomes self-limiting.
What is the difference between Gold Line and the other plate-loaded ranges?
Gold Line targets clubs that want converging, independent plate-loaded biomechanics at a mid-market price. The frame section and the 3 mm wall are commercial grade, and the finish process is the same one used on the heavier ranges.
