Description
The Gold Line Converging Triceps is a plate-loaded arm extension machine with independent converging arms, built on a 3 mm SPHC steel frame. It measures 131 x 117 x 117 cm, weighs 155 kg and accepts users up to 180 kg. Light In Fitness supplies it at 1,685 EUR excluding VAT.
Converging arms, one triceps at a time
The two arms of this machine are independent and converge as they extend, so the hands travel inwards along the natural arc of elbow extension rather than on a fixed parallel bar. Two consequences follow. Each arm carries its own load, so a dominant side cannot mask a weaker one; and the resistance stays aligned with the long head of the triceps through the full extension instead of falling away at lockout.
- Independent converging arms, plate-loaded on 50 mm Olympic posts
- Two loading levels on each post
- Safety bar limiting the working range
- Quick-release seat adjustment, settings marked in yellow
Build quality
Frame material is hot-rolled SPHC oval steel tube in 150 x 50 mm section with a 3 mm wall, laser cut and robot welded. The seat uses a twin pneumatic cylinder reinforced construction with 2 mm upholstery leather over high-density polyurethane foam, and the grip zones are extra-strength TPR-EVA. The finish is powder coating applied as two protective base coats with a final top coat, standard in black or grey, custom colours negotiable.
Where it fits on a gym floor
At 131 x 117 cm the footprint is small for a plate-loaded arm station, which makes it a realistic option for clubs that have run out of room in the free-weight zone. It is normally specified alongside a biceps curl and a chest press from the same line, so the loading procedure and the seat adjustment are identical across the group and induction time falls.

Frequently asked questions
Why train triceps on a machine rather than with a cable?
A cable pushdown loads the triceps but also demands trunk stabilisation, which becomes the limiting factor as the weight rises. A seated converging machine removes that limit, so the arm reaches genuine muscular failure. It is also far easier to supervise in a busy room.
Can the load be balanced unevenly between arms?
Yes, deliberately. Because the arms are mechanically independent, a rehabilitation programme can load the recovering side lighter than the healthy side and progress the two separately. That is not possible on a bar-linked machine.
How often does the upholstery need replacing?
On a commercial floor, 2 mm leather over high-density PU foam typically runs five to seven years before recovering is worth doing. Pads are replaceable individually rather than as a full seat assembly.
