The Forza FB59 is a selectorised leg press with a 134 kg stack, the largest in the Forza range, on a 205 by 117 cm footprint. Its length is the planning constraint: a leg press is a long machine and the seat has to be approached from the side.

Loading the quadriceps, glutes and hamstrings through a guided press is the most accessible heavy leg exercise a club can offer. Nothing has to be unracked, no spotter is needed and the back stays supported throughout, which is why the leg press absorbs so much traffic in a general fitness room. The 134 kg stack gives the range headroom that a smaller stack would not, and load is selected magnetically with colour coded plates by intensity, with a safety cord on the selector.

The frame is built from carbon steel tube of 110 x 50 mm and 100 x 50 mm with a 2.5 mm wall, robot welded without spatter and finished in epoxy polyester powder. Guide rods are stainless steel with a double hard chrome treatment, pulleys are V grooved nylon on internal bearings, and the cables are PVC coated steel of 5 mm diameter tested to 1000 kg. Plates are 7 kg each with PVC buffers between them, rubber bump stops and an anti shock base. Adjustment levers are aluminium, coloured red for quick identification, and the shrouds are 3 mm thermoformed ABS.

At 205 cm long the leg press dictates the layout of the area around it rather than fitting into one. Position it so the seat is entered from the side and the foot plate faces into open floor, not into a walkway, and keep the stack loading flank clear.

The machine is only 150 cm tall, so headroom is rarely an issue; length and circulation are. A siting plan showing the footprint, the entry path and the clearances is issued with the quotation once we have your room drawing. Frequently asked questions

Why is the stack larger than on other Forza stations?

Because the legs are the strongest muscle group in the body. A stack sized for chest or shoulder work would be exhausted by an average user within months on a leg press.

Is a selectorised leg press better than a plate loaded one?

Neither is better; they solve different problems. Selectorised loading is faster between sets and needs no plate handling, which suits high rotation floors. Plate loaded machines suit strength rooms where loads run higher and members are used to handling discs.

What are the coloured plates for?

They mark load bands so a coach can prescribe a setting that a member can find quickly, and they make the selected weight readable from a distance on a busy floor.
