Description

The Lexco LS-118 combines hip adduction and hip abduction on one seat, with a rotating thigh pad that converts the machine between the two movements. One station covers both directions of hip work, which is the argument for it in rooms where floor space is the constraint.

Separate inner and outer thigh machines are the traditional layout, and they occupy two footprints and two stacks for two exercises that are almost always trained in the same session. The rotating pad on the LS-118 changes the working direction without tools, so a member completes adduction and abduction from one seat. The range of movement is set with adjustable spring levers, which matters because hip mobility varies more between users than almost any other joint on the gym floor.

The reclined seat holds the pelvis against the backrest so the movement comes from the hip rather than the lumbar spine. At 850 mm wide the machine is narrow for a leg station, which is what allows it to sit in a row of machines rather than needing an island position. The frame is oval steel tube 50 x 105 mm with a 3.0 mm wall.

One station or two in the leg area

A dual machine saves a footprint and a stack, and it keeps a member on one seat for two exercises. The trade off is throughput: during busy periods one user occupies the station for both movements, where two machines would serve two people at once. In clubs under 400 m2 the space saving usually wins; in high traffic sites with queues at the leg stations, separate machines are the safer specification.

The narrow 850 mm width lets the station sit in a line with other leg machines. Allow access on the loading side and clear space in front for entry and exit. A siting plan is issued with the quotation once we have your room drawing. We deliver to France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg, quote export per project, and dispatch within five to ten working days from stock.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to switch between adduction and abduction?

Seconds. The thigh pads rotate and the range levers are set by hand, so the change happens between sets without leaving the seat and without tools.

Which muscles does each direction train?

Adduction loads the inner thigh group, principally adductor magnus, longus and brevis. Abduction loads gluteus medius and minimus along with tensor fasciae latae, the muscles that stabilise the pelvis in single leg stance.

Is it appropriate for rehabilitation?

It is widely used in that setting because the path is guided, the range is set before the first repetition and the load can be reduced to a single plate. Confirm the protocol with the practitioner responsible for the patient.
