Professional Upright Bike: Buying Guide for Gyms and Hotels

Pourquoi acheter votre Vélo droit professionnel chez Light In fitness

A professional upright bike costs between 1,550.00 and 3,999.00 EUR excluding VAT, depending on the console, the power supply and the installation environment. After the treadmill, the upright bike is the most universal cardio station on a commercial floor: it equips gyms, hotels, residential buildings and outdoor municipal facilities. The decision comes down to three things: console type (LED or touchscreen), power supply (mains or self-generating) and how well the frame stands up to continuous use.

Where the upright bike sits in a commercial cardio line-up

An upright bike keeps the user in a vertical position, with high handlebars and an adjustable saddle. That is the most accessible riding position for beginners, older members and anyone returning to activity, whereas an indoor cycling bike is built for intensive group classes. In a balanced cardio floor it complements the treadmill, the cross trainer and the rower by providing the station with the lowest barrier to entry.

For a hotel or a residential gym, self-generating models run without a mains socket: the pedalling powers the console. That frees the layout, lets you place machines in the middle of the room and removes trailing cables from the floor.

Selection criteria for a commercial facility

  • Console: an LED console is enough for unsupervised self-service use; a touchscreen adds programmes, connectivity and entertainment, which members now expect in premium clubs and hotels.
  • Power supply: self-generation removes the electrical constraint and makes mid-room and mezzanine layouts straightforward.
  • Environment: outdoors, only a machine designed for permanent open-air installation will withstand the weather and unsupervised public use.
  • User profile: for senior and health-oriented sessions, prioritise a low step-through and simple adjustments; the upright bike remains the most inclusive cardio station on the floor.
  • Maintenance: the belt, the crank assembly and the console are the wear points; check spare parts availability with your supplier before you commit.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a professional upright bike cost?

Club models start at 1,550.00 EUR excluding VAT for the V-PRO and reach 3,790.00 EUR excluding VAT for the Nexion U80T with its 15.6 inch touchscreen. The self-powered outdoor version for public facilities is 3,999.00 EUR excluding VAT.

Upright bike or indoor cycling bike for a gym?

The two stations answer different needs. The upright bike covers self-service cardio for every member profile; the indoor cycling bike equips intensive group classes. A complete gym offers both, in proportions driven by its class timetable.

What does a self-generating upright bike bring?

Pedalling powers the console: no mains socket, no cable on the floor and a free choice of position in the room. It is the preferred option for hotels and residential gyms, where the fitness room was not always wired for a full cardio line-up.

Can an upright bike be installed outdoors?

Only with a machine designed for outdoor use, such as the self-powered public facility version in the range. An indoor bike left outside will corrode and lose its warranty; outdoor equipment is a dedicated design, not an indoor machine in a different place.
