Description
The TRAINER SW09A is a street workout bar module with additional integrated handles, giving several grip orientations on one 216 cm frame. It stands 202 cm high, weighs 70 kg and needs a safety zone of 430 x 616 cm. Certified to EN 16630:2015-06 by TUV Rheinland, it is supplied by Light In Fitness at 1,668 EUR excluding VAT.
Grip variety is the whole point
A plain high bar gives you a pronated pull-up and little else. The SW09A adds parallel and angled handles to the same crossbar, so a single module supports pronated, supinated, neutral and mixed grips, plus hanging leg raises and the shoulder-width variations used in calisthenics progressions. For a compact site that can only take one or two modules, grip variety is what turns a single bar into a training station.
- Pull-ups in pronated, supinated and neutral grip
- Hanging core work and leg raises
- Grip and forearm endurance training
- Difficulty rated medium
A module, not a finished rig
The SW09A is designed to be combined. It bolts into the wider TRAINER street workout system alongside parallel bars, monkey bars, wall bars and inclined benches, so a site can start with one module and extend the rig later without replacing what is already installed. That matters for councils working across several budget years: the first phase is not a dead end.
Construction
Tubular high-grade steel, shot-blasted and hot-dip galvanised, then finished with two layers of weather and UV-resistant polyester powder coating. The module is anchored into the ground rather than free-standing, which is necessary given the dynamic loads a calisthenics user applies at the top of the frame. Standard colours are yellow (RAL 1018/7004), graphite (RAL 7016/9006), orange (RAL 2000/9006) and lime (RAL 6018/9006).

Frequently asked questions
Why is the safety zone so much longer than the bar?
Because a user swinging or dismounting from a 202 cm bar travels well beyond the footprint. EN 16630 sizes the zone on the free height of fall and the movement envelope, not on the equipment dimensions, which is why 216 cm of bar requires 430 x 616 cm of clear ground.
What surface should go under it?
With a free height of fall in this range, an impact-attenuating surface is normally required across the safety zone: bonded rubber, rubber tiles or a certified loose-fill. We specify and supply the surfacing with the module so the installation is compliant on handover.
Can it be added to an existing rig?
Within the TRAINER street workout system, yes, using the standard connection points. Combining it with another manufacturer’s rig is not something we certify, since the EN 16630 test applies to the assembly as installed.
