Description
The O Live Pro Series hip thrust is a plate-loaded glute station rated to a 225 kg maximum load, built on a 40 x 80 x 3 mm high-strength steel frame. It measures 165 x 141 x 90 cm and weighs 100 kg, and it is specified for gyms where the hip thrust is a programmed lift rather than an occasional accessory movement.
Why the hip thrust earns a dedicated station
Squats and deadlifts load the whole posterior chain, but they distribute the work across the spine and the hips. The hip thrust does not: the resistance vector is horizontal at the top of the movement, which is where the gluteus maximus produces its highest activation, and the lumbar spine stays comparatively unloaded. That combination is what puts the movement in strength and rehabilitation programmes alike, and what justifies a dedicated frame once a gym has more than a handful of members using it.
- Very high gluteal activation, reported above 80 per cent in biomechanical studies
- Progressive loading in Olympic disc increments up to 225 kg
- Reduced lumbar loading compared with a barbell floor set-up
- Suitable from beginner through to advanced athlete
Construction and comfort
The frame is high-strength steel in a 40 x 80 x 3 mm section, finished in anti-wear epoxy powder coating. Contact surfaces use high-density foam under antibacterial synthetic leather, which stands up to daily cleaning products, and the grab handles are shaped for a secure hold under load. Practical details make the difference on a busy floor: chromed disc holders for fast loading and unloading, rubber feet that stop the frame creeping across the floor, and an assisted mechanism for adjusting position between users.

Frequently asked questions
How does it compare with the Gold Line hip thrust?
Both guide the same movement. The Pro Series is the heavier specification, with a 225 kg rated load, a 40 x 80 x 3 mm frame section and integrated disc storage, which suits gyms running heavy programmed sets. Choose on load rating and floor traffic rather than on the exercise itself.
Are discs and a bar included?
No. The station takes standard Olympic discs on its own loading sleeves, so there is no bar to store and no bench to occupy during a set.
How much clear space does it need?
Allow the 165 x 141 cm footprint plus about 70 cm of access at the loading side. Rubber feet keep it in place without anchoring, but check the floor protection underneath: 100 kg plus 225 kg of discs is a concentrated point load.
Tell us the number of stations, whether you need matching disc sets and your delivery address, and we will return a quotation covering equipment, freight and on-site assembly.
