In almost every commercial gym the chest press records more sessions per week than any other strength machine. That has consequences for specification: cable wear, upholstery wear and pin wear all accumulate fastest here, and a facility that under-specifies its press pays for it in downtime. Selectorised press versus a bench and rack

A flat bench with an Olympic bar gives higher ceiling loads and trains stabilisation, but it needs a spotter, a bar, plates, plate storage and considerably more floor area. A selectorised press needs a seat and a pin. For a general-membership club, hotel gym or corporate facility, the machine handles the majority of pressing demand safely and unsupervised; the bench and rack are then specified for the minority of members who need them.

Throughput planning

Plan on 8 to 10 minutes of occupancy per member during peak hours including set-up and rest. A club with 600 peak-hour visits per week will typically justify a second pressing station, which is normally the SPG002 pec fly rather than a duplicate press, since it serves the same muscle group with a different pattern and absorbs the queue.

How is seat height set for different users?

The seat adjusts so that the handles align with the mid-chest at the start of the press. Set too low, the movement becomes an incline press and loads the shoulder; set too high, it becomes a decline. This is the single adjustment worth covering in every induction.

What spare parts should be held on site?

For a high-traffic press, a spare cable assembly and a spare selector pin are worth stocking. Upholstery panels are replaceable individually and are the second most common consumable.

Can the machine be moved after installation?

Yes, but at 278 kg it requires proper lifting equipment and at least two people. Plan the final position before delivery; repositioning a full circuit after the fact is a half-day job.
