Description
The Gold SPG015 prone leg curl has a 1,650 x 1,650 mm square footprint, a 240 kg frame and a 102 kg selectorised stack. It is the lying hamstring station of the Ellipse line, rated to 180 kg user weight.
Prone position, full hamstring shortening
The prone leg curl is preferred over the seated version when the objective is maximum hamstring shortening with the hip extended. Lying face down on the inclined bench places the hip near neutral, so knee flexion is not limited by hamstring length at the hip, and the peak of the movement loads the muscle in its shortest position. Clubs that run both a seated and a prone curl usually programme them for different purposes rather than as duplicates.
- Prone knee flexion loading the hamstring group with the hip extended
- 102 kg pin-selected stack
- Inclined chest and hip support with ankle roller
- Square 1,650 x 1,650 mm footprint, 1,650 mm height
- 240 kg machine weight, maximum user weight 180 kg
Use in injury prevention programmes
Hamstring loading is a standing item in team-sport screening and return-to-play protocols. A stack machine gives an instructor a number to record and a load to progress, which is why prone curls appear in club and academy gyms serving football, rugby and athletics. Where side-to-side comparison matters, the station is worked one leg at a time with the load noted per side.
Floor planning note
The square 1,650 x 1,650 mm footprint is longer front-to-back than most Ellipse stations because the user lies along the machine. In a narrow leg zone this is the station that dictates aisle geometry, so place it first when drawing the layout and fit the shorter machines around it. Allow clear space at the head end for mounting and dismounting.

Frequently asked questions
Prone or seated leg curl if only one can be installed?
A seated curl is easier to get into and out of and takes less floor area, which favours it in a general fitness circuit. A prone curl gives a more complete shortened-position load and is preferred where the gym serves sports teams or rehabilitation work. Both use a 102 kg stack in this range.
Is the ankle roller adjustable for different leg lengths?
Yes, the roller position is set by the user before the set so that it rests just above the heel with the knee aligned to the pivot. This is the single adjustment that determines whether the movement loads the hamstring correctly.
What is the delivery lead time?
Lead time depends on current stock and the size of the order. Single stations are generally faster than full circuits, which are consolidated for one delivery. We confirm a firm date at order acknowledgement.
Quoted at 1,950 EUR excluding VAT, delivery and installation on request. The prone curl is frequently ordered alongside the SPG016 leg extension to complete a leg zone. Send us your equipment list for a consolidated quotation within 24 to 72 hours.
