Description
The Bodytone SRX52 is a plate-loaded iso-lateral leg extension with independent levers, rated to 250 kg on a 3 mm carbon steel frame with a compact D-shaped base. Professional price: 2,075 EUR excluding VAT.
Independent levers, measurable symmetry
On a conventional leg extension the two legs share one lever, so the stronger quadriceps carries a proportion of the weaker side load and the imbalance is preserved indefinitely. The SRX52 gives each leg its own lever: each side lifts exactly what it can, the difference becomes visible during the set, and it can be programmed away rather than hidden. That is the whole argument for iso-lateral machines, and it matters most on a single-joint exercise like knee extension where compensation is otherwise invisible.
Both legs can still be used together for conventional sets, so the machine covers standard and unilateral work.

Who specifies it
Performance centres and commercial clubs equipping a lower-body zone. An iso-lateral leg extension is also a common specification in return-to-sport settings, where the point of the session is precisely to measure and reduce the deficit between the injured and uninjured side.
The SRX52 belongs to the Bodytone SRX range and shares frame sections and finish with the rest of the Solid Rock plate-loaded family.
Plates and loading
Olympic plate horns take standard 50 mm discs, and the machine is normally quoted with a plate set sized to the way the station will be used. For unilateral work the useful figure is the load per side rather than the total, since each lever is loaded separately. Allow clear access at both horns so a user can change plates without walking around the frame, which is the detail that decides whether the machine is used for unilateral sets in practice.
Frequently asked questions
Can both legs be trained together?
Yes. The levers are independent but can be driven simultaneously, so the machine handles conventional bilateral sets as well as unilateral work.
Does the padding hold up in a busy gym?
60 mm foam under a pebbled leather finish, with antibacterial EVA and an anti-perspiration treatment, is specified for daily intensive use. Pads are replaceable individually.
How much space does it need?
The D-shaped base is deliberately compact, but allow clear access at the plate horns on both sides and space in front of the roller for the leg to extend fully. We produce a scaled layout with the quotation.
