Description

The Bodytone Solid Grow SG52 leg extension is a plate-loaded machine taking 50 mm Olympic discs, with a maximum recommended load of 63 kg. It belongs to the Solid Grow line, an entry to mid-range family built for small gyms, independent coaches and well-equipped private facilities rather than for high-traffic chain clubs.

Plate-loaded rather than selectorised

The distinction matters commercially. A selectorised machine carries a fixed weight stack, is faster between sets and costs more; a plate-loaded machine like the SG52 has no stack, no cable, no pulley and no guide rod, so the purchase price and the maintenance burden both fall. For a studio that already owns Olympic discs, the marginal cost of adding a leg extension station is close to the price of the frame alone. Discs are not supplied with the machine; a 50 kg set per station is the usual recommendation.

Movement and use

  • Seated knee extension with an adjustable ankle roller
  • Pivot-guided path that isolates the quadriceps
  • Typical use: finishing work after squats, or controlled knee loading during supervised rehabilitation
  • Progressive loading in disc increments up to 63 kg

Who it is for

Small and medium gyms, independent personal trainers and premium home gyms. The Solid Grow positioning is deliberate: it delivers the guided movement and the ergonomics of a commercial machine at a footprint and a price that make sense when the station will be used by a handful of clients an hour rather than continuously.

Frequently asked questions

Are the weight discs included?

No. The SG52 is supplied as a frame with the loading horn; 50 mm Olympic discs are ordered separately. Budget a 50 kg set per station if the machine is the only plate-loaded unit in the room, less if discs are shared across a rack.

Is 63 kg enough for trained users?

For an isolation exercise performed after compound leg work, yes for the great majority of members. Leg extension is a finishing movement, and controlled repetitions at moderate load produce more useful quadriceps tension than a heavier, faster set.

Can it be used in rehabilitation?

Guided knee extension is commonly programmed after knee injury, but only under medical advice and with the load set by the practitioner. The machine supports that use; it does not replace clinical judgement.

Tell us how many stations you are equipping and whether you need matching disc sets, and we will return a quotation covering the machines, the accessories, delivery and assembly on site.
